Radio Telephony Restricted (Aeronautical)

It is a professional license issued by Wireless Planning and Co-ordination (WPC) wing of the Department of Telecommunication Govt. of India.

Students aspiring to become a Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Aircraft maintenance engineers or a Flight Dispatcher has to mandatorily get this license. It is a license to communicate over Radio apparatus while flying or in Aviation environment.

Part 2 – Oral Examination

It is an oral examination taken by DGCA/AAI and WPC together to check the knowledge of the students in regards to Regulation and procedures, Radio principles and Practice etc. Time - approx 1hr

To get R.T.R-(A) license the candidate have to clear both the exams in one go. If candidate pass in Part 1 but fails in Part 2 they will be declared Fail in the exam and the candidate has to give both the exams Part 1&2 again.

After clearing Radio telephony Restricted (Aeronautical) License examination the candidate has option for obtaining License by paying the prescribed Fee.

The validity of R.T.R-(A) license is for life time and for 20 years depending on the fees paid.

Eligibility.
  • Age :Minimum 17 years
  • Education : 10+2 with Physics and Math
  • Medical Fitness : Class II medical fitness under DGCA Rule 39
